RE: The Change.org link going around for Savannah Dietrich’s contempt cahrges

This article, from their local news paper (the same one that broke the contempt charge story), states that the contempt charges against Savannah Dietrich!

The tweet that lead to the charges was followed with…

“There you go, lock me up,” Dietrich tweeted in June. “I’m not protecting anyone that made my life a living Hell.”

Fuck. Yes. Lady. “I’m not protecting anyone that made my life a living Hell.”

How about that. Perhaps the fucking judge should consider this.

I also have weirdly mixed feelings on news papers publishing, “sexual assault,” instead of rape. These boys didn’t call her, “whore,” or, “slut,” and they didn’t pat her ass on the subway. They raped her. And filmed it. And took pictures to pass around as if they should be fucking proud of what they did.

If you’re afraid of using the word, you fucking should be, but using, “sexual assault,” seems to lessen the impact. As if it play it down.

Mejia and Chris Klein, attorneys for the two boys, then asked a Jefferson District Court judge to hold her in contempt because they said that in naming her attackers, she violated the confidentiality of a juvenile hearing and the court’s order not to speak of it.

blah blah blah, juveniles’ names shouldn’t be in the media for committing crimes. But, assholes, if you’re old enough to know of rape, and worse yet, if you’re capable and convicted of committing it, perhaps you should wave such a right. Since you clearly have no regard for your victim’s rights.

And who the fuck tells a rape victim, “you aren’t allowed to talk about this unbelievably horrible, traumatic, and hellish event.” ? How the fuck is that helping anyone but the fucking rapists.
